During the second quarter of 2024, the top five film and television apps in the Middle East demonstrated diverse performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower. Here’s a closer look at each app's performance:

Shahid - ﺷﺎﻫﺪ saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at around $2.2M in early April and then dipping to approximately $1.3M by mid-June, before rebounding to $1.9M in the last week of June. Weekly downloads experienced a significant drop from 224.8K in the first week of April to about 72K by the end of June. Active users also decreased from 1.03M in early April to 670K by the end of the quarter.

Disney+ maintained a steady increase in weekly revenue, starting at $359K in the first week of April and reaching approximately $559K by the end of June. Downloads showed a gradual rise from 45.9K to nearly 79K over the same period. Active users for Disney+ increased from 778K in early April to around 844K by the end of June.

OSN+ experienced notable growth in both revenue and downloads. Weekly revenue rose from $167K in early April to a peak of $341K by mid-June, before slightly dropping to $278K in the last week of June. Downloads climbed from 22.4K to 65.8K over the quarter. Downloads peaked at 90.2K in early June but declined to 43.1K by the end of the month. Active users saw an increase from 175K in early April to a peak of 323K in early June, before dropping to 244K.

Netflix displayed stable revenue growth, with figures rising from $86.3K in early April to approximately $99.5K by the end of June. Downloads fluctuated but generally increased from 61.4K to 89.1K over the quarter. Active users for Netflix remained strong, starting at 1.51M and growing to 1.63M by the end of June.
